| Description | A general survey of dance forms designed to create an appreciation of the vocabulary, techniques, and purposes of the creative process. This course includes critical interpretation and evaluations of choreographic works and dance forms within cultural and historical contexts. | ||||||||

Upon successful completion of this course, students will: 1. Identify various forms of dance. 2. Articulate the relationship between dances and the historical and cultural contexts from which they emerged. 3. Express an informed personal reaction to dance forms 4. Critically analyze and write about dance using established methods of dance criticism. 5. Evaluate the impact of dance on culture. |

| COVID 19 Information | The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition directly to their local health department. Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings when directly exposed to COVID 19 in compliance with the criteria included in the policy.
